Community Service

"A meaning way for youth to become responsible and productive members of their community and acquire valuable life-skills"

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

As an accountability option, juveniles may be scheduled for community service programming while on suspension from school, during after school and evening hours, on weekends and even during the week over the summer months. Youth referred to the Community Service Program are male and female adolescents who have been acting out in the community and are in need of having their behaviors addressed, their minds and bodies challenged and their hearts redirected. We believe that each youth has responsibility to make right that which they have damaged, stolen or harmed in order for restoration to begin.

The Agency's Community Service Program will accept youth ranging in ages from 10 to 18 and up to 12 youth per session.

Currently, the Community Service Program is being offered at the Agency's Williamsport Center in Lycoming County, Pennsylvania and the Lehighton Center in Carbon County, Pennsylvania.

GOALS FOR EACH YOUTH

  1. To gain a greater sense of ownership for his/her actions.

  2. To acquire practical life skills that will help them later in life.

  3. To give youth the opportunity to restore their image within the community.

  4. To reinforce within clients a sense of connectedness to their community and responsibility for their offenses.
